Gus Flesor emigrates from Greece to America and in 1901 opens a confectionary - Flesor’s Kandy Kitchen.
Gus featured some products we no longer sell in our store - such as cigars!
His son, Paul, and Paul’s wife, Betty, took over operations in the early 1960’s.
The recession of the 1970’s had a detrimental effect on many small businesses, including Flesor’s. Paul had to close his doors, and the building sat vacant for decades :(
In 2004, Paul’s two daughters, Devon and Ann, made a red-wine-fueled decision to quit their jobs and reopen the family business.
Look how happy they are!
In 2016, the store expanded into the two adjoining downtown buildings, allowing for more lunch seating, a FREE library, a larger candy room, and a conference room for special events.
In 2023, Ann retired, and Devon and her husband Bob became sole owners and operators.
In 2024, Flesor’s got hit by a ton of bricks - literally! In July, major structural damage to the building was discovered that required immediate renovations. Thanks to the support of the Tuscola community and loyal customers, Flesor’s was able to remain in business.
